Frequently asked questions

Is Safe Pick Up free for parents?

Yes. Parents download the app and use it at no cost. Schools pay a subscription.

How does the GPS tracking protect privacy?

Location is shared only while a pickup is active, and only with the school. Safe Pick Up works with “When In Use” location permission — no background tracking.

What happens if my phone loses signal during pickup?

If GPS goes dark for more than 10 minutes, the pickup is automatically cancelled and staff is notified. You can always restart the request.

Can I invite secondary guardians?

Yes — grandparents, siblings, and authorized caregivers can be invited from the app. Each has their own login and the primary guardian stays in control.

Does Safe Pick Up work offline?

The app needs a data connection to send your location to the school. The requests are lightweight and work well on 3G.
